MAPFRE, ELECTED BEST PRIMARY INSURANCE COMPANY IN
LATIN AMERICA FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR
For the second consecutive year, MAPFRE was elected Best Primary Insurance Company in Latin America by Reactions, a Euromoney group magazine. The 2007 award was received yesterday in New York by Domingo Sugranyes, Vice Chairman of MAPFRE.
The Euromoney group award was granted following a survey among 14,000 professionals from the financial, insurance and legal sectors. MAPFRE had also received this award the previous year.
Reactions is one of the leading magazines for the insurance and reinsurance sector worldwide and in it frequently publishes on its specialised pages global rankings, detailed analyses of top companies, as well as share price performance of insurance companies.
MAPFRE has a presence in the insurance, reinsurance and assistance markets of the main Latin American countries, where it ranks as the largest Non-life insurer in the area. The Spanish multinational has one of the widest distribution networks of any financial institution in the region and, moreover, it is carrying out an expansion plan that will lead it to reach 2,000 branches in 2008. During the first half of 2007 MAPFRE recorded total consolidated revenues of €7,547.2 million.
